Spiritual Director Formation Graduation

On June 1, St. Scholastica Monastery graduated four new spiritual directors who had completed a five-year formation program—Retreat in Daily Life, Introduction to Spiritual Direction, Spiritual Classics, Practicum I and II. As spiritual directors, they will walk with their directees and help them to respond to God’s call to a deeper relationship through prayer. The four new directors, Sister Cecelia Brickell, OSB; Rev. Victoria Fishel (First Christian Church), Betsy McNeil, and Kimberly Workman; bring the number of men and women who have been trained through the formation program to ten. The new and current spiritual directors are ministering in Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Heber Springs, AR and Tulsa, OK, using the gifts of Benedictine and Ignatian spirituality in their ministries and with their directees. We thank God for this expanding ministry and pray that He will continue to bless our ten spiritual directors and lead others to answer His call. (Although Retreat in Daily Life is the first step in spiritual director formation, it may also be taken on its own.)
