Taste of Solidarity

The planning committee chose the right theme - 'TASTE OF SOLIDARITY"- for our first fundraising event for the St. Scholastica Guatemala scholarship program for girls. From the beginning, there was Hispanic and Anglo solidarity. It was clearly seen in the planning, decorating, cooking, entertaining and attendance at the dinner. The Msgr. Galvin Hall at Immaculate Conception Church was the ideal setting for the event which featured the Subiaco Jazz Band under the direction of Deacon Roy Goetz, the Ballet Folklorico Azteca, under the direction of Ana Minden, the Ballet Folklorico Salvadoreno, and singers Jose Galvan and Alondra Romero. Over 325 attended and learned about the scholarship program; they also enjoyed the authentic Mexican meal prepared by Chef Jacinto Vazquez. Thanks to IC's Virginia Ricketts for her collaboration throughout the process.
