If you have wondered if religious life is for you, you are not alone. God may be calling you to something greater and more wonderful than you have even imagined! Listen for God’s call to you. Ask yourself, are you willing to hear God’s call? Are you willing to answer God’s call? There is a long path through deciding whether monasticism is right for you, but we are here to help.

This live-in experience is for women ages 16-45 who wish to learn more intently about the monastic life. Meet other seekers like yourself, share in our prayer and common life, and learn how we live out our Benedictine Promises of Obedience, Celibacy, Stability, and Conversatio Morum. Connect with Sisters and experience some of our ministry. There is time for reflection (Lectio Divina) and recreation. Hear first-hand from our Sisters how God called them to religious life and their response to that call. For more information, contact the vocation director at St. Scholastica Monastery about this event.
Our Simply Benedictine Observership Experience is open to seekers ages 17-45. This live-in opportunity allows participants to live the monastic schedule as the Sisters do, plus have introduction classes in monasticism. The Observership Program allows for volunteering and assisting in our ministries at St. Scholastica. There are options for persons to still maintain their employment and live intently the monastic life. This experience time frame is 1-3 months in length. The program is adaptable to fit your seeking needs. For more about our Simply Benedictine Observership Experience, please contact [email protected] or Call 479-783-4147.
